Over the last century, Crossroads United Way has made a huge difference by serving members of the community. As we celebrate 100 years of advancing the common good throughout the northeast Indiana counties of Elkhart, LaGrange, and Noble.
In 1922, the Heart of Elkhart Club of Elkhart County, Indiana, was established and was the city’s first community chest. The community chest evolved in the 1950s into the “United Fund”, using several slogans, one of which was, “An Hours Pay the United Way”.
The United Way became the new name of the United Fund in 1972. The United Ways of Elkhart, LaGrange, and Noble counties joined in 2020, creating Crossroads United Way.
